Located at an altitude of 1730 metres, in the wild heart of the Friulian Dolomites, the Rifugio Maniago is a simple and cosy place, ideal for those seeking an authentic mountain experience. Surrounded by fir woods, at the foot of the magnificent Mount Duranno, the hut can only be reached on foot, which makes it even more special: a true refuge, far from hustle and bustle.

It is the perfect reference point for excursions to Duranno, the Cime Centenere, the Sentiero Alpinistico Zandonella, the Casera Galvana... It offers a warm welcome, home cooking and the typical atmosphere of mountain huts of yesteryear, where people meet, chat and share the silence of the mountains.

At Rifugio Maniago, the mountains are lived with respect, simplicity and passion.

From Erto, follow the signs for Val Zemola.

Then, from the (paid) car park at Casera Mela, various options

- the CAI 374 path (starts as a mule track among larch and beech trees), the most direct, estimated time 1 hour and 20-30 minutes

- CAI path no. 908, which starts out in common with CAI 374, but branches off later following the signs for Casera Galvana. The longest and wildest, estimated time 3 hours and 30 minutes;

- the CAI 381 path for Casera Bedin di Sopra, the most scenic and suitable for a loop tour in combination with CAI 374. From Casera Mela, take the forest road to the Buscada Refuge, then, at an altitude of 1680 m, take CAI path 381, which must be travelled all the way to the Maniago Refuge.
